Top 5 Songs When You Travel
Travels and road trips are always associated with good
times, free spirit, adventure, quality time with friends and family. Music to
me, just like wine and coffee, brings good mood to the next level. It’s one of
those things that makes life so beautiful.
I asked my best friends about what are the songs they love
to listen to when traveling. Here are the answers. Listening to them just make
my heart beat faster and all ready to hop on to the next trip!
Whole Wide World by
Mindy Gledhill
I'm gonna walk a
hundred miles
I'm gonna whistle all
the while
If that's what it
takes to make me smile
I'm gonna walk a
hundred miles
I'm gonna run right up
this hill
Summer sky or winter
chill
If I gotta take a
break I will
But I'm gonna run
right up this hill
I wanna hold the whole
wide world
Right here in my open
hands
Maybe I'm just a
little girl
A little girl with
great big plans
Starting off with the one song that comes to my mind when I
think of traveling: Whole Wide World by Mindy Gledhill. Mindy Gledhill is an
Indie Folk, Pop singer-songwriter. The light, upbeat melody and singer Mindy’s
smoothing soft voice make whoever’s listening feel hopeful, peaceful and
optimistic towards life. It reminds you there’s a little girl inside you with
great big plans and gives you all the Sunday afternoon feels.
Wake Me Up by Avicii
I tried carrying the
weight of the world
But I only have two
hands
I hope I get the
chance to travel the world
But I don't have any
plans
I wish that I could
stay forever this young
Not afraid to close my
eyes
Life's a game made
for everyone
And love is the prize
So wake me up when
it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm
older
All this time I was
finding myself
And I didn't know I
was lost
Can’t rule out Avicii when it comes to anything to do with
great parties and good times. Hard to believe this summer anthem has been
around since 2013. Despite the lyrics being somewhat dark, Avicii innovatively
blends EDM with country and bluegrass elements and makes this song so uplifting
and travel-appropriate.
Lucy in the Sky with
Diamonds by The Beatles
Picture yourself in a
boat on a river
With tangerine trees
and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you,
you answer quite slowly
A girl with
kaleidoscope eyes
Cellophane flowers of
yellow and green
Towering over your
head
Look for the girl with
the sun in her eyes
And she's gone
Lucy in the sky with
diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with
diamonds
Ah
Inspired by the painting by John Lennon’s four-year-old son.
Rumor has it that this song was banned by BBC Radio because speculation arose
that the first letter of each of the title nouns intentionally spelled "LSD".
Despite the rumors, this song painted a dream world and it surely makes a crowd
scream whenever Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds starts playing.
Wonderwall by Oasis
Today was gonna be the
day
But they'll never
throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you're
not to do
I don't believe that
anybody
Feels the way I do,
about you now
And all the roads that
lead you there are winding
And all the lights
that light the way are blinding
There are many things
that I
Would like to say to
you but I don't know how
I said maybe, you're
gonna be the one that saves me
And after all, you're
my wonderwall
I said maybe, you're
gonna be the one that saves me
And after all, you're
my wonderwall
90s clingy song is always a good idea. So, what does “wonderwall”
mean? While the lyrics being a bit opaque, according to Urban Dictionary
"A barrier which separates the mundane from the Transcendent Reality. A
true Wonderwall will always have a crack, or a slit or an opening which allows
anyone a glimpse of what lies beyond the Wonderwall." Singer Gallagher
told the audience years later that this song is about “an imaginary friend
who’s gonna come and save you from yourself.” We hit the road when we wonder,
and hope to see a glimpse of light beyond the wall.
See You Again by Wiz
Khalifa
How could we not talk
about family when family's all that we got?
Everything I went
through you were standing there by my side
And now you gonna be
with me for the last ride
It's been a long day
without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all
about it when I see you again
We've come a long way
from where we began
Oh I'll tell you all
about it when I see you again
When I see you again
First you both go out
your way
And the vibe is
feeling strong and what's
Small turn to a friendship,
a friendship
Turn into a bond and
that bond will never
Be broken and the love
will never get lost
And when brotherhood
come first then the line
Will never be crossed
established it on our own
When that line had to
be drawn and that line is what
We reach so remember
me when I'm gone
Life is a highway by
Rascal Flatts
“See You Again” was
on billboard NO.1 for 28 weeks! We all know it plays at the end of Fast and
Furious 7 as Paul Walker and Vin Diesel's characters drive separate ways. This emotionally
powerful song is about a lifetime of friendship and closeness. Charlie Puth’s
vocals with Wiz Khalifa's raps together is so heavenly, a perfect track when
you are on the road.
