Popular with Italians? Española Way!

Española Way

Even though it’s a very small area, it’s perfect area to stay within close proximity of restaurant, bars, bakeries, shops, and beaches near you.

I love how fashionable this area is.

Just as the name suggests, there were many people speaking Spanish here.

There were many Italian tourists speaking their language too.
Is it possibly a popular area for Italians??

This picture is even made into a postcard ↓

Hosteria Romana

Fairly large restaurant with inside and outside seating.
The food is tasty and wine was satisfying.

HAVANA 1957

Cuban restaurant
They are open early in the morning and there’s an ATM, very convenient.

Inside the restaurant has a good atmosphere.
Night time is amazing too!

There were many trendy shops with amazing inside and outside views.
You won’t be able to see this kind of shopping district in Japan.

What to bring to your next trip.

Who wants problems when you travel? When you travel, you want to make sure you enjoy as much as possible during your trip without any problems. What better way to accomplish that than to have cool travel gadget to help you! There are many gadgets that you can consider but we will mention four gadget that you have to have. Some of these might be gadget that you use everyday.

Portable Charger / Power Bank
In a technology age nowadays, who can live without your cell phone or tablet? In a normal usage, cell phones such as iPhone and Samsung usually last about half a day, if not shorter. When you travel, cell phones are essential tool to gather info, store memory and communicate. Some studies show that people tend to use more cell phone during their trip then usual. This is because they take pictures, look up information, GPS and apps. In some cases, it is difficult to find a wall plug when you are on the go. Portable charger comes in very handy during these times. You do not have to worry about your battery life. Portable charger starts about 3,350mAh for about $15 and goes up to 22,000mAh for around $40 on Amazon. If you buy the 3,350mAh, it can fully charge iPhone 7 Plus (it comes with 2,900 mAh) or Samsung Galaxy S8 (it comes with 3,500mAh). When you are traveling, we suggest you go for the 22,000mAh. You do not want to be lost some where with no battery life. Better be safe then sorry when you are out and about.

Smartphones
As mentioned earlier, most people cannot live without their cell phones. It is the source of information especially when you are travelling. In a day-to-day usage, most people use the cell phones to communicate, get information, listen to music, watch videos on Youtube, take pictures and navigate. When you travel, you will use the phone for pretty much everything and beyond. To ensure that you can communicate while you travel, you should install VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) such as Whatsapp, Skype, Webo, KIK and Facebook messenger so that you do not have to pay for expensive voice call overseas but instead use internet calling to save money. The technology has improved so much in the last decade for VoIP that sometimes it is clearer than normal phone calls. Couple of apps you have to download before your trip. For transportation related, you have to have Google Maps, Citymapper and Uber. For flight and accommodations related, try Skyscanner, Kayak and Airbnb. For things to do, Yelp, TripAdvisor and Square are the best bet.

Portable WiFi Device / Router
When you are in USA, you have your current plan from carriers such as Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile to stay connected online. All the carriers offer internationally internet access but it could be very expensive. Most of the time they offer certain GB and when you reach the maximum data allowance it slows down to slow 2G speed and you have to recharge to get high-speed. T-Mobile offers free international internet access for over 200 countries at 2G speed but who wants a slow speed when you can get high-speed data with a portable WiFi devices? In Europe and Asia, portable WiFi devices has been one of the best technology for all type of travelers from leisure to business for many years. In North America, there have been increasing number of people who use the portable WiFi device in last couple of years. To buy the device itself, it could cost from $50 - $200, instead many travelers rent the device and when they return to US, they ship the device back. This would save you ton of money because when you buy a device you still have to buy a sim card to get internet connection. Portable WiFi device will let you connect up to 5 devices which means you can connect your cell phone, tablet and PC or you can even share the device with your friends and family who are traveling together with you and share the cost.

Headphones / Earphones
Our world is filled with background noise that is distractions from other people’s conversation etc. Often time, you want to escape from the surroundings and having good headphones or earphones will help you accomplish it. Noise cancelling headphones are not cheap but it is worth the investment. Some of the best brands are Sony, Bose, Sennheiser and Bowers & Wilkins. We actually tried the Sony WH-1000XM2 and Bose QuietComfort 35 II and they were both amazing. If you are one of those people who have hard time sleeping on the airplanes because of the engine noise, this is a must have for you. You can enjoy your music instead of engine noise and have a great flight. Some people might know this already but noise cancelling headphones are actually better for your ears because it cancel’s outside noise which allows you to listen to music with lower-volume which you can hear more rich sound. Constantly exposing your ears to high volume can damage your hearing permanently.

In most cases, you would save up money for a couple of years in order to go on a vacation. You work hard for your money and you want to enjoy every minute of your vacation. By staying connected and getting all the information you need with you cell phone. When you want to unwind or stay focused, use your noise cancellation headphone to block the outside noise.

Business Traveler Tips 2018

When traveling, there are many things that you have to think of. How to get to one place to other once you get to the destination, where to exchange money, where to take the clients for a quick meeting, how to stay connected to internet while you are on the go. One thing that you should definitely know is how to save on the flight and the best way to do that is to earn points when you fly. For those who are not familiar what reward points are, it is a rebate you get back from specific banks or credit card when you use them to pay. Here we will introduce you a couple of ways to earn points to save money.

Your Credit Card Matter
Getting the right credit card is one of the first step you should take to maximize the travel points. Some of the credit cards offer up to 100,000 points or miles.
American express has been one of the top companies that offer pints. They are currently offering 75,000 membership rewards points when you spend $5,000 or more on your first three month. You are also eligible for up to $200 per calendar year towards incidental air travel fees. You also can receive 5X points on eligible hotels when you use American Express Platinum Card to book on amextravel.com.
Another great credit card is the Chase Ultimate Rewards. This is said to be one of the most flexible rewards program if you use it the right way. There are a couple of different programs with in Chase Ultimate Rewards program. Ones with no annual fee has less rebates. It only provides you with one cent per point redemption rate. If you are willing to pay for $95/year annual fee for the other Ultimate Rewards cards, they could provide you between 25% to 50% more reward value depending on the card you sign up for. Sometimes you can transfer your points and Chase Ultimate Rewards can offer rewards transfer for British Airways Executive Club, Korean Air SKYPASS, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards, United MileagePlus, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, Hyatt Gold Passport, Marriott Rewards, IHG Rewards Club and Ritz Carlton Rewards. These would be a great way to earn extra points fast.
Finally, there is Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard. This is perfect for people who travel with American Airlines often. It offers signup bonus of 50,000 points and you will earn 2x miles if you purchase on American Airlines. The regular one-way trip ticket within USA is 7,500 points which means that you can fly about 6 times for free within USA. There are other perks included with Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard. You get preferred boarding, first checked bag free, 25% off eligible in-flight purchases, 10% miles back, lost/delayed baggage protection, rental car protection (up to $100,000) and worldwide travel accident insurance for up to $500,000. Other than that, there is trip delay protection which covers up to $500 to spend on lodging, ground transportation and meals. Good thing with this is as long as the points or the credit card was used, anybody can use this protection.

How to Earn Points Fast
Most of us already have credit card that can provide cash back or earn points. But we are probably not maximizing the points earned. The easiest way to do that is to make sure what the promotion is for earning more points and paying everything with your credit card.
You might want to consider signing up for multiple credit cards if you are not planning to refinance or apply for a big loan. In the past, getting 15,000 to 20,000 for sign up points were incredible. Nowadays, sign up bonus could go up to 100,000 points which can take you to anywhere in Europe in a business class. You can even sign up and cancel the credit card once you get the rewards.
In many cases, some cards provide extra points for specific items such as groceries, gas or travel. If you have multiple cards, you have to know by using which card will maximize the points rebated. When shopping, never shop directly at the store website, always look for shopping portals where you can earn regular points plus additional points.

In Conclusion
For business trips, every penny saved is always a good thing. You do not want waste your business budget whenever possible. Other than the sign-up bonus to earn points quickly, purchasing from sites that offers extra points other than regular points helps you rack up those points towards your business trip overseas. Also, do not forget to choose the right credit card when you go to restaurants to earn those extra points for your next trip as well.
